Be a beacon of Islam to those around you. Let every exchange with people allow them to see the beauty in this religion. Let the light of the Qur’an illuminate everything you encounter. Don’t tell anyone how much Qur’an you recite or memorise but rather let it speak through your actions and truthful words.

Islam isn’t only for us, it is for the whole of mankind as Allāh ﷻ says:

“We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ only as a mercy for the whole world.”

QUR’AN 21:107

Much of this Dunya has become reduced to a culture of selfishness and “Me, Myself and I”, however as Muslims, it is not only an encouragement, but a duty to spread Islam wherever we go. We must establish Deen in ourselves and Deen on this earth. We generally want good for everyone and the only way to attain ultimate happiness is through Islam. The da’wah to Islam can be done in many ways like conversing with people about religion (with both Muslims and non-Muslims alike); enjoining the good and forbidding the evil; and the way Umar (rda) advised everyone to do:

“Invite people to Islam even without words.”

They asked: “How?”

He replied “With your manners.”

Allah has honoured us through this religion and made us the best of nations ever raised.

This should make us rejoice at the fact that Allah ﷻ has blessed us to be in the Ummah of Rasulullah ﷺ and among the best of nations. Allah ﷻ says:

“You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.”

QUR’AN 2:110

However there is a condition to this, as we can only be part of the best of nations when we adhere to Islam properly and enjoin in the good and forbid the evil, once we stop doing this, we are no longer those who Allah ﷻ is describing.

So, always strive to represent Islam in the correct way. We are all flag bearers of Islam, wherever we go.
