The Blessing of Time
โ
If only we knew the value of time then we wouldn’t even dare waste a single minute. The blessing of time is one so often not acknowledged not appreciated as much as it should be. But time is a powerful thing, and when one loses someone they love, it can be shown how much it means when the ones left behind are prepared to give up anything, just to spend a few more minutes with them.
Then how do we claim to love Allah ๏ทป when we can’t even spare an extra minute dedicated to worshipping Him?
Each and every one of us has a appointed time on this earth and no one knows this but Allah ๏ทป. Yet we so easily allow ourselves to simply “kill time” while we are waiting for something. This is one of the biggest injustices one can do to themselves by squandering a blessing so few have.
Allah ๏ทป tells us that this life will feel like a day or less than a day. By comparing a lifetime of around 80 years to a day means that each second has more value than we could have ever imagined! We will be questioned on the day of judgement about how we utilised our time, so let’s be prepared for the questioning by being proactive and productive in the little time we have left.
Use the following hadith as a guide to your life; let it be a way to look upon your life right now and identify areas where you can improve. As the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ so perfectly sums it up:
โTake advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before your poverty, your free time before your work, and your life before your death.โ
SHUโAB AL-IMฤN 9767
We ask Allah ๏ทป, Dhul-Jalฤli wal-Ikrฤm, to give us bounty in our time.
